Hi and welcome! (٩˘▾˘۶~))

This is the first of many posts to come here on TranslationSUB (Torako Blog). For years we have wished to create a blog to interact with our audience (and to show that translation can be super fun too XD) and that finally became possible with the renovation of our website.

Here we will share interesting facts and cultural aspects of the languages that we mainly work with, which are ENGLISH, JAPANESE and PORTUGUESE. For the most part, you will find the translations of the Brazilian and Japanese songs that we post on our YouTube channel, along with interesting facts about them.

Of course, as a group of passionate language professionals, we will also share information and interesting facts about the languages that we work with, such as differences, similarities and some fun facts.

Now allow me to introduce myself. I am the mascot and ambassador for TranSUB, my name is Torako.

The name Torako is an acronym of the word “translation” (in English) and “tradução”(Portuguese for “translation”), which in Japanese are read respectively as “toransureshon” and “toradusaun”.

The word “ko”( “子”) is Japanese, which is often associated to ludic and youthful characteristics, meaning “child” or “offspring”. It is commonly used in baby girl names, such as “Yoko Ohno”( “大野陽子”), or for mascot names in Japan.

We gathered TORA+ KO = TORAKO. And that is how the name Torako came together. ✧ﾟ･: *ヽ(◕ヮ◕ヽ)

本日、トランスレーション・サブ（省略：トラサブ）のオフィシャルブログの更新公開に亘って、初投稿で「トラ子ブログ」ブログをご紹介しま～す。

数年前から多くの方々にポルトガル語や日本語の面白さと交流’するためにブログを始めたくて、漸くホームページの更新でブログを開設出来ました。

基本、トラ子ブログではトランスレーション・サブが取り扱っている言語（ポルトガル語・英語・日本語）とその文化の楽しいところとお伝えします。多くの場合、ブラジルや日本の歌の翻訳などYouTubeチャンエルで共有します。

もちろん、言語に対して熱い気持ちのプロ団体でもありますので、言語についての勉強のコツや豆知識もお伝えします。

では、このブログのMCである自分を紹介しま～す。TranSUBのマスコットとアンバサダーのトラ子です。宜しくお願いします。(^^♪

トラ子という名前の『トラ』の由来は英語の『トランスレーション』（英：Translation・日 ：翻訳）とポルトガル語の『トラデュサゥン』（葡語：Tradução・和：翻訳）です。トラ子の『子』は子どもの『子』です。トラ＋子を合わせ、トラ子の名前が誕生しました。『トラ子』は『翻訳の子』の意味を持っています。
